The research chemical AM-2201 is a putative agonist for cannabinoid receptor. It was discovered by Alexandros Makriyannis and hence, AM is added to the name. This drug has been recreationally used and abused in various countries including those in US and UK. The drug has now been banned under Synthetic Drug Abuse Prevention Act of 2012 and it is completely illegal in US and New Zealand. The drug is still legal in many other countries.
Even when recreationally used, the AM-2201 can lead to vomiting and panic attacks. Higher dosage can lead to convulsions similar to epileptic seizures. The chemical name for the AM-2201 is 1-(5-fluoropentyl)-3-(1-naphthoyl)indole and its IUPAC name is 1-[(5-fluoropentyl)-1H-indol-3-yl]-(naphthalen-1-yl)methanone. The chemical formula for this research chemical is C24H22FNO with 359.435 g/mol being its molecular mass.
AM-2201 Herbal Blend is not a very different thing. It refers to professional administration of 99.1% pure AM-2201 into herbs, especially the leaves. The amount of the chemical administered to each kilo of leaves vary from one manufacturer to another. The herb that is generally used is the damiana herb, which is generally known for its euphoric properties. The damiana herb contains terpene – a hydrocarbon- responsible for giving the herb its fragrance. Damiana is also known for its anti-depressant and anti-anxiety features.
AM-2201 Herbal Blend is often abused and used for smoking as an alternative to marijuana smoking. However, using this herbal blend to attain a bit of high can be extremely dangerous because even low doses of AM-2201 can cause problems. In addition to that, damiana also has its own euphoric properties. Together, these two can seriously interfere with blood pressure and cause short term memory loss, clumsiness, paranoia, panic and anxiety.
